SFC Member emcees will showcase the art of freestyle lyricism with our OWordPlayO and O1x1s' segments. During WordPlay, SFC emcees will freestyle based on images and words displayed
on a TV screen, featuring keywords related to the Decatur Book Festival and
overall theme of the weekend; afterwards we will open it up for the crowd to submit
words. In the 1x1Os segment, audience members will be invited to join the SFC emcees on stage for a conversation in rhyme."

Dav Pilkey, the creator of the popular Captain Underpants series introduces his newest character, Dog Man, the crime-biting canine who is part dog, part man, and ALL HERO!Local children's bookstore Little Shop of Stories will also announce the 2016 book for its community wide reading initiative On The Same Page.Children will have the chance for photo-ops with Captain Underpants and Dog Man.
