Almost ten years have passed since there was an organized garden tour in Avondale Estates. The Avondale Estates Garden Club thinks that’s too long, so they have planned “The Secret Gardens of Avondale Tour” for Saturday, June 1st from 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Attendees will be treated to: a garden of the first home to be built on the lake, a woodland garden, a garden with wildlife figures tucked into nooks and niches, a garden with a welcoming tropical beacon, an emerging garden, and a garden to rival a large estate. In addition, plein air artists will be working in the gardens during the tour. The Secret Gardens of Avondale Tour tickets will be $15.00 dollars if purchased before the tour and $20.00. Children under 12 are free, but strollers and pets are not permitted on the SG tour. Tickets will be sold in Avondale at: City Hall, Edwin Jarvis, Finders Keepers Home Consignment, Garage Door Studios, and Ronald Sachs Violins. Tickets are also available in Decatur at: Intown Ace Hardware on Scott Blvd, The Great Frame Up, Lee Cobb Hair Design, Opus Music, Vivid Boutique, and One Step at a Time in Oakhurst. Day of ticket purchases will be available at the Pavilion in Willis Park located at 51 Dartmouth Ave. near the pool in Avondale EstatesFor more information, you may contact “The Secret Gardens of Avondale Tour” Committee Chairman, Nancy Martin, at email@example.com.
