In anticipation of the release of A24 Films’ SAINT MAUD, directed by Rose Glass and starring Morfydd Clark, The Plaza Theatre and the Atlanta Film Society will host a special retrospective series featuring three previous A24 horror films with women in prominent roles.
Starting March 10th, The Plaza will present one screening each week. The first will be HEREDITARY on March 10th at 9:30 PM. This will be followed by THE WITCH on March 17th at 9:30 PM and MIDSOMMAR: DIRECTOR’S CUT on March 24th at 8:30 PM. With each ticket purchase to one of the three retrospective screenings, attendees will receive a complimentary pass to attend the advance screening of SAINT MAUD, which will release in theaters nationwide on Friday, April 10th. The advance screening will take place at The Plaza on March 31st at 7:00 PM.
The debut film from writer-director Rose Glass, SAINT MAUD is a chilling and boldly original vision of faith, madness, and salvation in a fallen world. Maud, a newly devout hospice nurse, becomes obsessed with saving her dying patient’s soul — but sinister forces, and her own sinful past, threaten to put an end to her holy calling.
