Like all musicians, David has had to deal with challenges before, but nothing was quite like the day he found out that he had Parkinson’s Disease. Luckily, the diagnosis has not slowed down his drumming, singing, and songwriting, and he is now taking on the new challenge of putting together a benefit show for Parkinson’s Disease.
“It will be the week of my 64th birthday in March, so what better excuse to bring together my friends and fellow musicians for some fun, some celebration, and a chance to make a difference helping out an important cause!"
A graduate of Boston's Berklee College of Music, David has: played in bands all across the US and Canada; opened for artists such as Chubby Checker and Ronnie Stoneman; appeared on TV with blues artists Chick Willis and Beverly "Guitar" Watkins; performed with Jeff Sipe (Phil Lesh & Friends, Aquarium Rescue Unit), Tim Loftin (Delbert McClinton), Clair Marlo, the Atlanta Percussion Trio; and Roger Kohrs (Unknown Hinson); was drummer for a Boston production of "Godspell"; and been a session musician for radio/TV commercials and numerous other recording projects. He has also written and published four school counseling books and other educational products.
The concerts will feature members of various Atlanta bands, such as the Amazing Mongooses, Moontower, the Fried Combo, and some surprise guests! Admission is a contribution to the Parkinson's Foundation. https://www.crowdrise.com/o/en/campaign/when-im-64-birthday-concert
