Get your fix of Rockin' Foot-Stompin' Americana with the BooHoo Ramblers! Celebrating over 17 years and 500+ gigs as a working band - more than 180 of those at Blind Willie's - the BooHoo Ramblers are a perennial favorite of audiences near and far who crave quality live music.
In the Spring of 2002, Clark Ashton (guitar, vocals), Patrick Mitchell (fiddle), & Pete Frisina (bass) assembled at Clark’s Commuter Gallery studio in Decatur, GA to work up a set of tunes based on traditional music with acoustic instruments. They released their self-titled debut CD in 2004. Their 2nd disc "Other Side of Heaven"(2007) brought the addition of drums and guest musicians. They toured Ireland in 2008 and 2009, and Maine in 2010.
After all these years, they have evolved into a standard rock lineup with Stewart Brown on lead guitar and Mike Gamble on drums. The BooHoo Ramblers remain a roots-oriented group playing original and cover tunes that blend traditional, Country, Folk, Rock, and Bluegrass styles, a.k.a., Rockin' Foot-Stompin' Americana.
Founding member, artist and musician, Clark Ashton, has been criss-crossing the country recently as his documentary "The Ballad of Druid Hill" made waves at multiple film festivals. It was an Official Selection of the 2019 Oregon Documentary Film Festival, nominated for Best Original Music. It WON the award for Best Short Music Documentary at the 2019 Bare Bones International Film and Music Festival.
The BooHoo Ramblers perform their unique and exciting sound at live concerts in venues near and far. Hop on your chance to hear them at Blind Willies. Come early, stay late 'cause Clark and the guys are gonna bring it home!
