Atlanta, GA, January 29, 2020– On Saturday, February 22nd at St. James Live (3220 Butner Rd. #240 Atlanta, GA 30331), soul/jazz vocalist, Rhonda Thomas presents a musical tribute to three of her greatest influences; Gladys Knight, Phyllis Hyman and Anita Baker.
Rhonda Thomas (www.rhondasings.com) returns to Atlanta’s St. James Live after two and a half years to deliver a show that is near and dear to her heart. Rhonda will be performing classics from Gladys Knight, Phyllis Hyman and Anita Baker alongside some of her own originals. Before launching her solo career, Rhonda was a background vocalist for soul music legend, Issac Hayes from 1997 until his passing in 2008. The Atlanta-based songstress graced the main stage of the Atlanta Jazz Festival last year where she performed selections from her five critically-acclaimed solo albums. Ms. Thomas’ last album, Vinyl Daze peaked at #12 on the Billboard Jazz Charts.
The “Rhonda Meets Gladys, Phyllis & Anita” concert promises to be packed full of outstanding musicianship and showmanship. Rhonda has enlisted Allen Smith (piano), John Henry (drums), Andre Avelino (lead guitar), Joel Powell (bass), Kevian Batemen (background vocals) and Melanie Jackson (background vocals) to create an awesome live music experience.
