Covenant Presbyterian Church’s music director and choir will present “For Us The Living”, a requiem by Alfred Fedak, on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 4 p.m. in the sanctuary of the historic Buckhead church. The program is free and open to the public. The work will be performed by a chamber orchestra and the Covenant Presbyterian Church adult choir featuring Soprano Jeanne Ann Ratliff, with Covenant’s Director of Music, Jeffrey McIntyre, conducting. The work was first performed in April 2007 in New York and was commissioned by Clifford Lamere to honor the memory of his parents. The requiem acknowledges the realities of death and grief, but it also serves as an affirmation of the gift of life. According to the composer, its intention is to bring comfort, consolation, hope and encouragement to all who have suffered loss.
