Little Hands, Big LOVEFEST held Sunday, October 20th, 11 am – 7 pm, is a philanthropic family festival and fun run held in the Meadow at Piedmont Park where children of all ages can actively engage in civic projects that benefit other children in Atlanta. The annual event is hosted by Children Helping Children (CHC), an Atlanta-based nonprofit committed to educating and empowering youth philanthropists. Teens from CHC’s Junior Board of Directors have crafted compassion curriculum projects for 12 non-profits which allow festival goers an afternoon of giving back coupled with learning more about service, compassion and celebrating diversity. Traditional festival activities will also be offered including an obstacle courses, bumper balls, wood working, food trucks, face painting and a talent show and light celebration run entirely by kids at 4:30. A pre-festival Fun Run! Fly-K will begin at 10 a.m. with necklaces provided to kids for each lap around the meadow. Fly-K participants are encouraged to show up in wings, capes, or costumes and will have access to free yoga immediately following the Fun Run. $30 ticket for the Fly-K with the first 500 tickets at check-in receive an event t-shirt. 500 10th Street, NE. www.chcatlanta.org.
