Due to the forecasted weather for October 19, the Lantern Parade has been cancelled and rescheduled for Friday, October 25th —same time, same location, and same fun!
Families and people of all ages can enjoy an evening with candy (erm...food! Definitely meant to say food...), lanterns, a costume parade and music! The New Orleans-style marching band SABOR! will lead the parade through the streets of Downtown Norcross, and MC Lexx will treat us to a hit mix of beats throughout the evening.
The event is free and open to the public, but you can purchase lanterns for $15 at the Norcross Welcome Center and various downtown merchants, or at the park on the day of the parade. The parade and activities are open to everyone, no purchase necessary.
But wait, that's not all! Get your best costumes together, as there will be a contest in which the best of the best will receive a grouping of gift certificates from the downtown merchants worth a $300.00 value. Categories for prizes include Best Family or Group Costume, Best Adult Costume, Best Child Costume and Best Decorated Custom Lantern.
