June: A Month Worth Celebrating!
DORAVILLE – The City of Doraville announced this week that they would be hosting “June: A Month Worth Celebrating” on Saturday, June 19 from 6:00 – 10:00 PM at 3760 Park Avenue, across from City Hall. The event is being celebrated in recognition of Juneteenth, the Summer Solstice, Pride Month, Father’s Day, Doraville’s 150th Anniversary, and general revelry. The event will feature performances from the “Merely Players Presents” theater troupe.
“We are so excited to help Doraville celebrate so many wonderful occasions,” said Joan McElroy, the managing director of Merely Players Presents. “We have assembled a talented group of singers and musicians for a 20th Century Musical Revue to share especially with the people of Doraville. We look forward to joining everyone to sing and dance along to our favorite pop songs from the last century.”
The event will also feature food trucks and plenty of activities for families to enjoy.
“There are just too many events in June for us to celebrate,” said Crystal Dawson, the city’s parks and recreation director. “Rather than have every day of every week be busy for the next month, we decided to wrap it all into one and have a big blowout bash. We guarantee there’s something for everyone to celebrate.”
