Now on view at Quinlan Visual Arts Center Mini Gallery located at Regions Center is original art work by local artist Isaac Alcantar
Isaac Alcantar lives in Lawrenceville, GA. His work is inspired by his surroundings and culture.
“Art is an adventure of discovery that takes me on a journey of exposure using color, texture and subject. Art allows me to enjoy feelings of pleasure and emotion caused by living in a new culture.”
Alcantar studied drawing for two years with artist Bill Stevens at the Hudgens Art Center. His instructor suggested he explore painting. David Raderstorf, director of the Kudzu Art Zone, has been his mentor and painting instructor for the last five (5) years. Alcantar has entered (and been accepted) into eighteen (18) juried exhibitions including the Kudzu Open Exhibit and Georgia Watercolor Society member exhibition. In February 2018, Alacantar had his first solo exhibition at the Mexican consulate and following that was invited to exhibit another solo show at Clila- Coalicion De Lideres Latinos in Dalton.

This show is one of many that will feature emerging North Georgia artists in a small local gallery housed at the Regions Center, 303 Jesse Jewell Parkway, downtown Gainesville through an ongoing partnership with the Quinlan Visual Arts Center.
The Quinlan Visual Arts Center, 514 Green Street, N.E. is located in the heart of the historic Green Street district of downtown Gainesville, Georgia.
