Illumine at Oakland Cemetery
Historic Oakland Cemetery comes alive again this spring with Illumine, its annual after-dark arts event. For eight evenings, April 23-25 and April 30-May 3, visitors will wander through all-new displays set against the inspiring backdrop of Atlanta’s skyline.
This year’s expanded event invites you to uncover new history, explore new sections of the cemetery after dark, and enjoy all-new installations of light, sound, and texture by local and national artists. It focuses on the cemetery’s 3.2-acre historic African American Burial Grounds and the newly restored Women’s Comfort Station, highlighting the lives of the men and women whose stories they tell. Illumine will also feature live music, drinks, and an Oakland pop-up shop.
