Auburn Avenue Films, along with COCO Studios, will launch the inaugural Georgia Entertainment Masterclasses (GEM) series with one goal in mind – to help foster the home-grown talents of Georgia writers, directors and producers. The masterclass series offers three (3) days of intensive workshops that take place at COCO Studios located at 767 Trabert Avenue, NW; Atlanta, GA 30318. Masterclasses/workshops will be held Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17, starting at 9 a.m. for a full day until 4 p.m. What makes these masterclasses so special is the lead lecturer and industry showrunner Holly Sorensen, one of the most prolific television and movie screenwriters and producers on the rise today.
The Georgia Entertainment Masterclasses group will provide structured workshops for creatives by bringing showrunners, directors, producers, agents and development executives from Los Angeles and New York to support Georgia’s above the line creative community. Auburn Avenue Films (AAF) owners, and Atlanta natives Maynard Jackson III and his wife, Wendy Eley Jackson, are using their relationships recently established in this industry witnessed in the successful and award-winning documentary, MAYNARD, to expand and educate homegrown talent. AAF produced the 2018 documentary, MAYNARD, which is nationally distributed by Virgil Films to NETFLIX.
