The Blue Angel Studio sprang to life in 1997 at 898 Bradford Street in Gainesville, Georgia.
Heyward Hosch approved a group of local artists with the idea to create a space for their work.
Generously, he volunteered to renovate the old railroad workhouse close to the Amtrak Railroad Station, the owner of the Eagles Club and the Big Bear Café.
Today, this is the happy home for fourteen working artists featuring: Ann Alexander
Jack Bailey, Judy Black, Mary Brady, Pris Buttler, Gene Coker, Rosemary Dodd, Sharon Farkas,
Ann Goble, Neal Hughs, Lynn Kelly, Alice Ann Mundy, Lynda Stewart and Bob White.
“Portraits 4 U” Connie Lynn Reilly
Native Atlanta, Georgia artist Connie started at an early age with an innate desire to bring subjects to life with her art. Connie’s ability to draw along with her painting skills continues to impress those who view her lifelike painted images of children and adults whether portrayed in a formal portrait or narrative composition. Classical realists and French impressionists have influenced her style. Her distinct style of portraiture has become highly recognized.
This show features her portrait paintings of people and flowers in the mediums of oil, pastel, colored pencil, and silk paintings. Including a few class demonstrations.
Connie’s artwork is in numerous private, public and museum collections. Professional Associations are the American Society of Portrait Artist, Portrait Society of America. She is the Founder, President Emeritus, and Signature Member of Excellence of the Southeastern Pastel Society.
Connie is a master instructor in classical representational drawing and painting. She is currently working on portraits, figurative works as well as illustrations for children’s books and other commissioned work. She has completed hundreds of portrait commissions.
Mary Ann Klimek
Mary Ann Klimek, founder and president of The Artists Mission Inc., a non-profit corporation, has pursued her God-given artistic gifts and talents her entire life.
Mary Ann’s present artistic medium of choice is ceramics, specifically ceramic sculpture. She taught ceramics classes at the Quinlan Visual Art Center in Gainesville, GA for several years. After founding The Artists Mission in 2013, Mary Ann began mixing her ceramic sculpture with kiln-formed glass.
Her passion and goal with The Artist Mission is to use the arts to raise funds for other non-profit organizations.
Mary Ann is a devoted wife and mother with 8 children and 10 grandchildren. She enjoys international mission trips to share the gospel around the world.
Quinlan Instructors Show
Featuring artwork by Quinlan’s class and workshop instructors. This is the second exhibit of its kind at the Quinlan and it will have a myriad of styles and recent artwork by our instructors in mixed media, sculpture, oil, and acrylics. Artists include Stephanie Amato, Brian Davis, Sharon Farkas,
Nancy Franke, Judy Bynum George, Fox Gradin, Mary Frances Hull, Kathy Kitz, Amanda Lovett,

The Quinlan Visual Arts Center, 514 Green Street, N.E. is located in the heart of the historic Green Street district of downtown Gainesville, Georgia. A comprehensive visual arts center operating for almost 70 years for the benefit of the Northeast Georgia community, serving nearly 20,000 guests annually, the regular business hours of the Quinlan are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Admission to view the galleries is always free to the public.
