East Point’s premiere entertainment showcase, “Wednesday Wind Down In The Point,” returns this year with more star-studded performances, and the City is seeking local artists to open for various national recording artists. Last year over 6,000 concert goers enjoyed performances by Angie Stone, Q Parker and Daron Jones of 112, Bobby V, as well as popular local groups including Gritz & Jelly Butter, Jukebox, the Soul Cartel and more! Announcements of the 2019 line-up are forthcoming!
Wednesday Wind Down In The Point will kick off on May 22, 2019, from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., in the Downtown Commons, located at 2757 East Point Street. Subsequent dates for the event are June 26, July 24, and August 28. “Wednesday Wind Down provides an opportunity to showcase our downtown revitalization, highlight local businesses and enhance our economic development efforts,” said Sharon Shropshire, event organizer and East Point City Councilmember Ward A At-Large.
Interested solo artists or groups should submit a three to five-minute demo (video or MP3) to Shannon Wiggins, East Point’s Public Information Officer, at email@example.com no later than May 1, 2019. A selection committee will review the entries and determine the performers, who will be notified at a later date.
