Butterfly Experience 2020
The butterflies are returning to the Dunwoody Nature Center this August, albeit under much different circumstances than we have grown accustomed to over the last 26 years.
While we normally host a one-day festival attracting thousands, 2020 will feature a more intimate experience, held over the course of a week, with limited capacity timed slots. Participants will have the opportunity to experience hundreds of butterflies up close and personal in a tent set up inside our North Woods Pavilion. The experience will take place daily August 15-22, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily (except 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday). Time slots last 25 minutes.
Whether you walk, bike or drive to the park, please proceed to the check-in booth in the lower level parking lot near the boardwalk path entryway to check-in and complete the health screening before heading to the North Woods Pavilion for your timed entry.
All guests ages 10 and older will be required to wear a mask while inside the Butterfly Experience and the Sun Porch where the Native Plant Sale will be held. Children and adult size masks will be for sale at the check-in booth while supplies last.
Bring your smartphone to access our touch-free resources via QR code. All you need is your smart phone camera.
Health screenings will include a questionnaire and temperature check of each guest via contactless infrared thermometer.
All tickets must be purchased electronically in advance. No tickets will be sold at the event. Purchase tickets and read all about safety protocol here: https://dunwoodynature.org/butterfly-experience-2020/. Ticket prices are only $10 per person, and children ages 3 years and younger are free!
