Pinewood Forest will host the grand opening of its six-home micro village, with the first micro homes in the country to be fully powered by geothermal and solar energy. The homes range from 375 to 500 square feet and are purposefully designed for a full life in a small space. Situated overlooking 50 acres of forest, the houses are finished with energy efficient appliances and fixtures and have direct access to the bike path that circles the greater Pinewood Forest community.
The grand opening event will be held in conjunction with The MicroLife Institute and will feature tours of each micro home, plus Pinewood Forest’s 325 square foot Kasita, which helped serve as a model for the new homes. A lunch and learn with Pinewood Forest leaders and the architect will offer visitors insight into the planning and construction process.
Saturday, July 20, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For ticket info, click here.
