Great opportunity to checkout unusual functional, visual, and performance arts in Cobb County on Nov 22nd through the 24th at Artisan Resource Center. If you like Cirque du Soleil circus arts, with aerialist performances, and colorful body painting, stop in to see the newest addition to the artists community at Artisan Resource Center: “The Artists’ Asylum”. This professional Aerialist performance and training group will be rotating on silks to DJ music in the Studio H-3 Loft. With its soaring 30’ ceilings, it’s a perfect venue for entertainment and special events. LED Lumiocity will join the performers with body painting exhibitions throughout the evening.
During the three day annual event, professional Artists and craftsmen, performance artists and filmmakers, will open their studios for attendees to take a peek into the operation of professional art studios, and to talk with artists about techniques they used, or upcoming classes & workshops, and, observe artist technique demos. It’s a great chance to view new work by professional artists, explore the Artists Market, pick up original work, gift items, limited editions, and close outs. Special Events and exhibitions occur in several studios.
The Art Party and opening reception launches the event on Friday night from 6PM -10PM, with music and entertainment in various studios throughout the building. Grab a taste of local theater from award winning Out of Box Theater sharing performances and skits on Friday night and original play readings Saturday afternoon. The film industry is represented well in the center and if you are familiar with Walking Dead, don’t miss Movie Special Effects studio AFX, with a rare peek into Andre Freitas' studio - open Saturday only for touring.
This year’s event also welcomes another new artist to the center, contemporary expressionist artist Michael Heffernan. He is internationally represented through Sol Art Gallery in the heart of his native home Dublin, and is locally represented at Robert Kent Gallery in Marietta .
Come Friday evening to the art party for a quick review. Come Saturday and/ or Sunday for extensive tours.
