Hello Alpharetta Business Networkers!
“Networking is always important when it’s real, and it’s always useless when it’s fake.”
-- Seth Godin
Our next networking event for the Alpharetta Business Networking meetup will be held on Monday, December 9, 2019, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This event will be held at the Village Tavern in Alpharetta.
There’s plenty of parking! RSVP here.
1) What can you expect at this event?
This is a business casual event with a friendly atmosphere. There is no formal agenda, it’s about having good conversations and building connections.
These events are equal-parts business and social – and 100% professional. Just come in, get yourself a name tag, drop a business card in the bucket for the raffle, and then start saying hello.
To that end, I try to say hello to everyone, so if you are feeling nervous, or are an introvert, just come say hello to me first! I’ll try to make you feel welcome and get you warmed up for networking.
Each event attracts between 30-70 attendees. Typically, half of the attendees are regulars and half are first-timers – so if it’s your first time – you won’t be the only one!
These events are free, but please RSVP and update your RSVP if your plans change.
2) Can you bring a friend?
Yes, please do! There’s a +1 at RSVP you can use. Remind your friends to join Meetup and then join our group so they receive future invitations.
3) How many members in the group?
The total number of people in the group is quite large. There are 3,420 total members as this note is being written. There are always new people to meet at these events.
4) Get a free plug in the reminder email.
We send a reminder email about a week before the event. This reminder also includes a “news and notes” section that curates news from the greater Alpharetta business community. If you are a member of the group, you can get a plug too. It’s a good opportunity for job seekers too! Here’s how to do it: https://is.gd/MpztHI
5) Have you joined our group on LinkedIn?
Our LinkedIn group is the digital companion for this real-world networking group. This is a good way to transform contacts into connections – there are 285 members in that group presently. Join here: https://www.linkedin.com/groups/12118249/
6) No hard-selling policy.
Please don’t come to these events and hard sell. We have a two-strike rule: If I see you doing it, I’ll ask you privately to stop. If you do it again, there will be no warning, I’ll simply remove and block you from the group.
7) Good reading!
Here’s the source for that quote above – it’s also a good read for networkers:
