Act3 Productions Presents Calendar Girls February 7-23
Sandy Springs, GA – Act3 Productions presents Calendar Girls Feb. 7-23 at Act3 Playhouse in Sandy Springs Plaza, 6285-R Roswell Road in Sandy Springs. Tim Firth's hilarious play based on the true story of eleven W.I. members who famously posed nude for a calendar to raise money for the Leukaemia Research will leave you smiling. Tickets are $18-$23 and may be purchased at www.act3productions.org.
When Annie’s husband, John, dies of Leukemia, she and best friend Chris resolve to raise money for a new sofa for the family room where they waited while John had his chemotherapy treatments. They persuade fellow WI members to pose nude with them for an “alternative” calendar in John’s memory and raise money for Leukemia research.
The success of the calendar goes beyond their wildest dreams and they have soon raised the money needed and much more. Their efforts also catch the attention of the national and international press, who soon descend on the small village of Knapeley in the Yorkshire Dales.
Although the calendar is a huge success, Chris and Annie's friendship is put to the test with their new-found fame and Chris is forced to question her real motivation behind doing the calendar. Tim Firth’s hilarious play is based on the true story of eleven W.I. members who famously posed nude for a calendar to raise money for the Leukemia Research Fund in 1999.
The performance schedule is: February 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, and 22 at 8 pm
February 9, 16 and 23 at 3 pm. Group rates are available by calling 770-241-1905.
