TDawg Presents is excited to bring you the 8th Annual edition of what has become a great holiday tradition on the Atlanta music scene, the Atlanta Holiday Hootenanny! The event will take place on Thursday, December 20, 2018 and returns to its original home, The Variety Playhouse in Little Five Points.
Net proceeds from the concert and silent auction will directly benefit Atlanta Habitat for Humanity. Atlanta Habitat transforms communities by acting as a catalyst for neighborhood revitalization through education, innovative development, partnerships and long term relationships with families. Our vision is an Atlanta where all people have access to quality affordable housing in safe, vibrant neighborhoods with opportunities to thrive. For more information about Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, please visit the Atlanta Habitat website, www.atlantahabitat.org.
The concert will have four sets, totaling over four hours of music and featuring up to 20 musicians on stage at once. The 2018 edition of the Atlanta Holiday Hootenanny will feature a dedication to the late Vassar Clements, who passed away in 2005. He transcended several genres with his fiddle playing, including performing with Bill Monroe, Jerry Garcia, Stephan Grapelli, and the great Django Reinhardt. Vassar also created his own form of music called Hillbilly Jazz, combining elements of Western swing, jazz, country and even rock, to form a sound all its own.
