Johns Creek Beautification, a Georgia (501)(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is excited to announce the 2nd annual Secret Gardens of Johns Creek. On Saturday, May 4, 2019, from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, patrons will be able to tour this year's collection of seven amazing home gardens that emphasize unusual and themed plant combinations and hardscapes. The tour will feature a pool deck surrounded by hardy tropical greenery and flowers, a Japanese inspired koi pond and Buddha meditation area, a magnificent expansive moss lawn surrounded by azaleas and hydrangeas, a unique outdoor stacked stone fireplace, an artistically arranged raised bed configuration, and a backyard with a series of stone pathways that will take you on a journey through a unique collection of shade and sun perennials, conifers, many native trees and shrubs.
Partnering with Johns Creek Beautification for the first time this year, Autrey Mill Nature Preserve will be a premiere tour stop. This unique Johns Creek owned property includes miles of woodland trails, historic buildings, butterfly garden, animal exhibits, and more.
The Secret Garden committee looks forward to once again highlighting wonderful musicians and artists for the enjoyment of the tour patrons and will have Master Gardeners present to answer any plant related questions. Educational presentations will be occurring throughout the day at the Nature Preserve. All tour stops are conveniently located along the Old Alabama Road corridor, which will allow visitors to relax and enjoy each unique property at a leisurely pace.
All proceeds from this event support the work of Johns Creek Beautification and will be specifically earmarked toward the purchase of major public art sculptures for the city, landscape beautification projects throughout Johns Creek, and to benefit a massive Citywide daffodil planting effort to raise awareness of cancer survivorship through their partnership with CanCare. Many of the attractive medians along SR141 and State Bridge Road are a few examples of projects facilitated by JCB and funded through public/private partnerships.
Patrons are asked to consider becoming a sponsor - levels start at just $100. Volunteers to work the event are also welcome. Passes will be made available on-line beginning March 20, 2019. For additional information, to volunteer, become a sponsor or acquire tour passes ($25 each, free for children 12 and under), please visit our website at https://www.johnscreekbeautification.org.
